Sending demos in 2017

Hey people,

Any advice out there of how to send a demo in 2017? In particular, as an electronic music producer, should I:

1) Send instrumentals to a label - perhaps they hear a track, and they can think of a suitable vocalist already on the label to sing over it.
2) Send full tracks to a label - as finished "songs", with full production and vocals as "ready to go" tracks that the label can release as they are.

Thoughts??

In this day in age, sending demos to a label is like giving change to a homeless person. unless its something they can make use out of it's not worth their time. but its always good to try and see what happens

1 and 2 both indicate you're sending things out to netlabels as it is, but it's still good practice to follow their rules. Even the shittiest netlabel in the world will refuse your music if you don't have the decency to do as they say on their demo policy.
