now imagine if you set supercomputer loose on it and make it control daw, plus some way for critics to make quick inputs it will just outlearn you in mere seconds, and can do in 1 hour or maybe less that you will do in lifetime.

Here friend, instead of being terrified of software programming (there are way more reasonable things out there to be terrified of, like spiders for instance) I am going to help you understand and become their master http://www.alicebot.org/be.html
problem is that if i use bot to make music then its not made by me anymore, and secondly this is just tip of an iceberg, just imagine if listener is replaced by machine too, music made by machine for machines, way beyond human understanding

now as i created this thread and went to make a tea, i gave into thoughts and came back with questions, what is music and art ? it is exchange of information by means of vibrations through air, what if i bypassed ears and auditory cortex as whole and directly delivered information to brain, would it still be music ? would picture still be picture if i delivered idea bypassing visual cortex ?
i cant put this idea together very well right now, it needs some polishing, but you get what im saying
Not worried at all but then again I'm not some reactive luddite forever looking for techno boogeymen. I'm also not convinced that my Tesla car is going to go all HAL on me and refuse to open the pod bay doors. Reckless of me really.
"A lot of people like Mozart were prodigies; they were writing brilliant works at very young ages," "That's probably what's going to happen: some brilliant kid will come along and be popular. I can see a lone artist with a lot of tapes and electrical ... like an extension of the Moog synthesizer — a keyboard with the complexity and richness of a whole orchestra, y'know? There's somebody out there, working in a basement, just inventing a whole new musical form."
So replace "brilliant kid" with "AI" and boom. New musical form.
The AI explosion will be so beyond music creation, it's really on the bottom of my worry list.
interesting concept. If an AI is not strictly understanding music in a mathematical fashion (chords, notes, progessions,..) but is also able to emulate emotions, we are quite close. If these AIs can also incorporate elements of surprise, like humans can do we will not be able to distinguish their music from ours.
but are these machines restricted to only emulate our feelings, and therefore make music that we can 'understand'? If we go one step further, if we unleash the iterative process on their self-created music, will the AIs start to make music that is so evolved we will not be able to connect to it? Will they create their own (emotive) networks which are above our understanding?
Like in Her, when the AI connects to multiple other AIs on levels we do not comprehend?
restricted ? only thing that restricts machine is computing power, in 30 years desktop pc will literally emulate your brain on neuron level, it can feel and soon it will have more emotions than human will ever have, can you imagine new emotion ? you cant, just like you cant imagine new color, can you imagine what 50khz sine wave sounds like ? can you exactly tell me how it is restricted ? other than computational power which will be solved in future
I was going to say something along these lines if I felt less like OP was an alt. Literally the "Fear" is no different than being terrified not even of someone smarter than you but we'll say someone more knowledgeable. (isn't that the point of learning music theory in the first place?)
And _then_ there's the reality that we haven't proved actual intelligence yet. Dually certain on these forums.
