Old School Dubstep Thread

I love the roots of Dubstep I just cant get enough of that oldschool sound. I think its really sad how over commercialized Dubstep has become. It started out as a beautiful tightly woven genre and now its been taken and stretched so thin there's almost none of the original sound left. Here is my Tribute to the artists that started dubstep and the ones today that are still staying true to the roots.
Post any songs that you think fit into those classifications.

Re: Old School Dubstep Thread

I know you already have Digital Mystikz up but figured I'd throw Mala up anyway.

Just a few of my favorites. So tired and frustrated with "dubstep" now. I remember telling people about it a few years back when I first heard Distance, noone knew wtf I was talking about. Now these douchebag skid marks are calling me and asking if I heard of Skrillex and Korns new tune. Long live "old" dubstep. I just hope this new stuff bottoms out soon. Not that it's terrible, I am just tired of it. /end rant /continue beer

good to see another distance and kryptic minds fan that's the good stuff right there. I know exactly how you feel man. i miss the old days of dubstep back before everything sounded like robots raping each other and all the little ravers were declaring skrillex as the second coming of Christ. if this forum had a like button i would like that so many times. especially the "end rant/continue beer" hahah.

Re: Old School Dubstep Thread

when any form of dubstep is being called 'Old School', I cry even more as I realise how old I am

Re: Old School Dubstep Thread

As long as labels like Chestplate and Deep Medi exist, all is not lost. I would post more but I've posted my thoughts so many times on this subject that I'd just be repeating myself.

Amen. Distance and Kryptic Minds were the first ones to really pull me into the genre. And like kingldub said. As long as Chestplate and similar labels are still pushing out those vinyl records, I'll keep buying them.

Glad to see other people have the same thoughts as me. I'm outnumbered in my area lol.

Speaking of beer now, I'm all out.
