Mouse w/ Wrist Support?

The first optical mouse I ever bought has finally started to die. I get occasional wrist pain from typing and mousing. Suggestions? I sincerely cannot abide a trackball, I've never been dexterous enough to make them work.

Might be interested in some kind of touch surface though. I'm on Windows 7. Thanks for your input.

Well. You know what. Fuck it, if you can suggest a specific one. I bought one once and tried it for like a week. Bailed. Returned it.

Honestly, this is a signifact part of why I initially went hardware. I already do so much typing and mousing my wrist just wasn't going to take much more!

Re: Mouse w/ Wrist Support?

Roller bar mice are another candidate. I had the pleasure using one when working at a library for a while, and if you use the keyboard a lot, it really is convenient and handy. Great for text/spreadsheet editing, and although I have no experience using one with a DAW, I would assume they work great for that as well. Works well with either hand to boot, if you happen to be a leftie. In addition to being ergonomic, reduces stress by not forcing you to lift your hand off the mouse to write with both hands and then going back again. As I've been on a FamiTracker stint lately, I have seriously been considering getting one.

As a downside, decidedly not good for gaming. Also expensive at ~$200+.

Found this [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click here to register]
for your browsing leisure. Hope you find something decent. RSI is a bitch - I personally use a stress ball, extend arm and curl wrist (usually between thoughts) and nibble on protein (bars or nuts or whatever). Keeps the amino's flowing

I was looking into footpad mice but they're about as expensive as a electronic drum kit so... Still might be an option to change what part of your body you use to click
