[Vaporwave/Remix] Syllix - Junglewave

Hey guys,

So this is a remix of two classic Sega games, Phantasy Star Online and Ecco The Dolphin. It was made for RadioSEGA's compilation album "Collision Theory" where 12 artists remix two different source tracks from Sega games and all proceeds go towards charity. It's for a great cause, but I'll tell ya, mixing two completely different soundtracks together is some grueling work!

There's some seriously awesome tunes on the album. If you enjoy my submission, be sure to check the link in the description where you can listen to the rest of the album and download or donate if you feel compelled to

This is my first take at a vaporwave / retrowave / synthwave /whatever you wanna call it track. Feedback is always welcome!

Cheers,
Syllix

Excellent result, but I don't envy the process at all

The drums might've been a bit buried when the pads were playing, but I've been making a lot of house the past few months, so I'm used to ducking everything right now. Also got a bit long for me in the end, I wouldn't have missed a few bars there. But it's really hard to say anything negative considering the constraints!

You know what, remixes are the only time I really use drums since I'm used to making ambient. I completely forgot about using a compressor to duck the pads like you would in dance music. I went back to my project and tried it and it certainly helped. Oh well, something to keep in mind for the future
