Dubstep Drums (Zetta and Dead Critic style)

Hey all!

I've been trying to make a certain style of Dubstep for a while and put my own twist on it but i'm having difficulty designing the drums for it. Mine seem to lack the same punch as heard in tracks like Zetta & Dead Critic - Gameboy. Is there a chance someone could give me some pointers on how to create drums similar to the ones in that track?

Many thanks!

Notus

Boost the fundamental with a parallel resonant bandpass filter. Don't believe in modesty, just crank the gain to maximum. Slam into a limiter to bring it down from +86db to 0db, the worse the limiter the better. If this is not enough, layer with toms tuned to the fundamental beforehand.

Re: Dubstep Drums (Zetta and Dead Critic style)

OTT comp > everything else

Really I know that it's possible to do upward compression with regular comps too by doing parallel processing, but that's about it. Possible. OTT feels like cheating.
