Fl studio 11

FL Studio 11 was officially released from Beta today. Downloading it now to have a look but has anyone already used it?

Seems as though they've improved the live usability functions and also chucked in a few new VST's

The new drum synth "BassDrum" looks pretty promising

Re: Fl studio 11

one of the coolest new features is the ability to edit multiple instruments that are contained in 'patcher' via one piano roll window, by using different colored notes. Pretty great for writing harmonies and counterpoint.

I honestly haven't really used patcher as I've never had a need to (that I know of) but that sounds like an extremely handy feature, might be worth getting to know it.

Re: Fl studio 11

Two words:Fucking Awesome. I don't know how to really use the new song structure making, but considering I'm not topping out my CPU because my RAM is actually being used? Holy shit it practically FEELS like 64-bit. And that's due to release!

Plus groove machine synth is even free.

I don't like how you can no longer "machine gun" your samples in preview or how the tempo limit is now 522bpm

It looks great! There are some features like Vibrato Editor I'd like to check out but $300 or $400 seems to be much. Anyway - someday I'll upgrade!

Re: Fl studio 11

In many ways I wished I would've started out with FL as I think it's awesome to work with in terms of simplicity and options yet when I was looking for a DAW it still had the immature Fruity Loops flavour to it. Now on Musicradar it's voted best DAW for the second year in a row!

I downloaded the demo and I think it looks amazing and would be really fun but I already went for Sonar and contemplating on Live. Learning 3 DAW's would be too much of a challenge. So many goodies and so little time..

You can use FLS as a slave plugin inside of another DAW, it includes a VSTi for that with full functionality. I use it with Cubase because I know it better, but prefer Cubase's layout.

Re: Fl studio 11

Performance Mode would be nice to use if only I actually had a MIDI controller. xD Funny thing is that I did have two, but then I sold them many months ago. :3 It's not like I would do much with Performance Mode aside from having some fun with it anyway, but still. I haven't used Patcher a lot either, but I have always been aware of its versatility. I just have always stuck with doing things the old fashioned way, I guess you could say.

I also like some of the updated graphics. I know this is a small and frankly irrelevant feature to the program, but I've always kept attention to it over the years. It feels as though it is looking much more "modern" now, if you can understand me here. In FL 9, the graphics were significantly different in many areas, as opposed to now. Idk, I just like graphic upgrades.

One thing I really want (and has been requested quite a lot; not sure why it isn't added yet xD) is more mixer tracks. 99... just isn't enough. xD But then again, I'm not very primitive with my tracks. It seems like a lot of people aren't. We need more stuffs...

I like all the pretty colors too. :3

Speeeeedcore mothafucka

Also, I sometimes like having the tempo set twice or four times as fast as the song actually feels so that I don't have to zoom way in for 34th and 68th notes.
