I mostly exclusively listen to Electronic Music, and that to me is always "intelligent" and danceable. But I do listen to some soft rock from the 90s and a few rock tunes like ColdPlay which is practically soft rock too. I also listen to some hip hop and rap, not much, but some good stuff and it's pretty much electronic stuff too since they use drum machines and samplers. Even most 1980s pop rock was electronic.
Within electronic, I pretty much listen to everything that seems innovative except Trance, Hardcore, Trap, and Death metal variants. But I used to listen to more industrial and that did start to crossover more into metal. Also I don't like Happy Hardcore or druggie music. Last but not least, I don't listen to the minimal stuff that sounds like 30 second noise loops, but I used to hear some of it on internet radio. I guess it was people demoing abstract VST's online.
Internet radio really blew up the music world for me for listening to stuff. that and a few listening/buying sites like http://Addictech.com
I dont listen to the radio a whole lot but when i do its mostly jazz and funkk.
Alternative rock on occasion but im all about the future bass/future classic wave right now. Chill trap over that heavy festival trap shit.. and electro house over any house imo. anddd wave racer is on that shit right noww. chiptune brings me way back
