Which make and model? I found Kenmore to be a bit flat, I much prefer the warmth in the hum that GE models have, but only the pre 1985 models. They're hard to come by. Make sure they are plugged into a stable source. The frequency oscillations in the current can be irritating, albeit on hot and humid days can add an interesting texture to the sound. You have to just focus enough...
