What's your promotion strategy?

Do you have a website?

Physical copy or digital media?

Who are these international stars?

How long have you been at this?

Mastering services?

Is there a contract involved?

If so, what's the split?

Indeed. I'm curious as to the details.

They do have a soundcloud with 9 followers. I'm curious about the same things as RFJ.

BOY OH BOY LET IT BE DAVID GUETTA, LET IT BE DAVID GUETTAAAA

But for real I did a small research and found out that OP needs to re-think establishing a label.

Set everything up, make a website (contact forms hosted by Gmail really don't look too professional to me) make connections, have some plans, include all information about your label while making advertisement posts like this (vide: RFJ's post has some good questions you need to answer)

You got a nice little website about your own music, OP, I guess you could do one for your label as well.

After checking your SoundCloud (not trying to diss you or your music) I think this isn't the right forum for the type of music you're looking for and that you should work more on connecting with musicians as your profile doesn't seem to be too active.

Cheers

I'm starting up a label too. You'll get a free bandcamp upload (just one though) and I'll post your album on facebook (once).

How much for a YouTube and is there a comment guarantee?

The album will be posted only on the label's fanpage though, which will include likes from International Stars like the owner's close relatives and his neighbour's kid who is 13 and clicks "like" on every shit he sees on Facebook.

i really am sorry for the derail though. I keep thinking scyn's gonna come in here and for shame me so I'll stay outta here from now on. Honestly if the OP has something worth looking at, I'm cool with it.

Well FWIW you have some legit questions, RFJ.

The trouble is there are people who would jump at the change to be famous and send their unpublished tunes to random email addresses only to be taken advantage of or straight up have their songs stolen.

Asking for more information is never bad.

Re: Dance music Record label open to submissions

Okay back to serious....

Nothing wrong with starting a label or project or whatever at all. But, personally, I think the way to go is to build it first. I'm assuming you don't have a website or you would have linked it, I know you don't have the post count to do that yet, but people find creative ways of getting it done.

What you'll want to do is make something attractive in both layout and concept. Contact some people privately and get them to do some music for you. Promise them some things like I mentioned in my first post. Easiest things to offer out of the gate are promotion and mastering.

Then, once that is in place, announce your project somewhere people know you and start releasing the material you already have over a period of time. Not all at once though because you'll want to build momentum and refine your process.promote each release prior to it coming out so you'll have eyes on the project when the release hits. Before you release anything at all promote the project itself with peeks at what is on the way.

Do all this properly and by the time you get finished releasing the material you collected prior to starting you'll have people wanting to send you material and making contact with you.

In my opinion that's the secret, not threads like this that you see quite often in the independent electronic music world

:drinks:

I like how this guy is planning his own releases, though. Clearly he's just doing it for fun, he doesn't really want to promote it or be taken seriously.

This isn't an insult jimmywillis, I'm doing the same thing off and on and it's a lot of fun.

ouch i kind of feel bad for this guy, only just a little bit though. People certainly tell it like it is around here. I prefer the truth over any hype or bs.

If he wasn't coming here to spam, this thread would be a lot cozier.
